As a licensed mental health counselor, I earned my master's degree in Clinical & School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and most recently my post master's certificate from Butler University. I enjoy working with adults and couples in areas of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life adjustment, stress, relationship difficulties, sexual identity/orientation, parenting struggles, self-esteem, and grief and loss.
Prior to private practice, I worked in schools and community mental health settings utilizing a variety of approaches, focused on client-centered and strength-based treatments. Tailoring to the needs of each client, I incorporate DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills including mindfulness, emotion regulation, effective communication, and distress tolerance to address acceptance and change.
I employ a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment, allowing clients to process their thoughts and feelings to attain their individual goals.
